Frequently Asked Common Questions
Can I claim my treatment on Medicare?
If you have suffered back pain for greater than 6 months then you may be a candidate for a Team Care Arrangement Plan. Discuss this with our staff and your Doctor to see if you are able to be included under this plan. Approval under this plan allows you to claim $244.75 under Medicare rebates covering the bulk of the cost of our extensive spinal conditioning program.
Is Osteopathy a medically recognised practice?
Osteopathy and Physiotherapy are mainstream manual therapies that are effective in releasing muscle and joint restrictions to assist in pain relief and the restoration of spinal flexibility.
Where are your facilities located?
The conveniently located offices of Spinefit Osteopathy cater for Perth and its suburbs as well as the greater Peel Region with one facility in South Perth at Bateman and one in Mandurah.
Our new Bateman Osteopathy and Physiotherapy Clinic is only 15 to 20 minutes from the greater Perth suburbs of Armadale, Fremantle, North Perth and Victoria Park. Call Now to arrange an appointment.
What is the Difference between Osteopathy, Chiropractic and Physiotherapy?
Osteopathy and Chiropractic generally apply the use of manipulation of the muscles, nerves and skeleton to re-adjust the structure of the body. Osteopathy is gentler and less stressful as it concentrates on the muscles and nerves to gently bring the skelton into alignment whereas chiropractic uses more direct physical adjustment methods to do so.
Physiotherapy is more about the re-adjustment physically, mentally and socially [addressing work and recreational habits] of the body and using massage to reduce tension areas in the body.
All three address the problems associated with musculoskeletal pain and muscle tensions; they also are required to be accredited and these days require a University Degree, often dealing with all three disiplines.
What is the Difference between Sports and Remedial Massage?
As the names suggest one is tailored specifically to deal with a sport; that is the type of sports involved and the muscles that need the most attention to improve ones performance and recovery.
Remedial Massage on the other hand is one dealing with recovery from perhaps injuries sustained in work, sports or play and can involve a general all-over massage or is aimed at areas of the body that are specifically affected.
